During the war of 1812 british citizen Laura Secourd overhead american plans to attack a nearby british outpost. Part of the larger (failed) invasion of canada. She travelled through 30 kilometers of forest to warn the british outpost aiding  canadas victory in the battle of beaverdams and the larger war.
